The mission of RECT is to provide and promote the performing arts and to increase the cultural and educational opportunities to the population of Mercer County and Central Kentucky. They do this by performing different shows since 1983 when the theatre was funded by Mary Chelf Jones.

RECT’s new Children’s Theatre program features plays produced by children and for children. Participants have the opportunity to perform for over 500 of their peers, in addition to 300 – 500 members of the community in public performances. Most importantly, participants learn new things about theatre, acting, technical theatre, communication, and about themselves.
