Ragged Edge Community Theatre (RECT) is an amateur, volunteer, 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization.  The Ragged Edge Community Theatre, located at 111 South Main Street in the Old Harrod Theater building, has become a cultural arts center, providing educational opportunities, visual art and high quality entertainment for the community of Mercer County and Central Kentucky.

RECT utilizes high school students as interns for an intensive learning experience that covers administrative, artistic, and technical aspects of the theatre.  This year, two Boyle county students and one Burgin Independent student will join RECT as interns.  All have been long-time participants in RECT’s Summer Stage and Children’s Theatre programs.

The theatre was founded in 1983 by Mary Chelf Jones, who had a dream of making the arts a part of community life in Harrodsburg, Kentucky.
